– Refund Policy At The Spearfishing Shack, we understand that plans can change and weather can be unpredictable. We do our best to accommodate all guests fairly while also respecting the time, preparation, and resources that go into each tour. Deposit Requirement To secure your booking, a 50% deposit of the total tour cost is required at the time of reservation.
⸻ Cancellation by Guest • More than 72 hours before tour start time: A full refund of your deposit will be issued. • Within 72 to 24 hours before tour start time: A partial refund of your deposit will be issued. A portion will be retained to cover scheduling, staffing, and preparation costs. • Less than 24 hours before the tour or same-day cancellations: No refund will be issued. The deposit is forfeited due to the short notice and inability to rebook.
⸻ Cancellation by The Spearfishing Shack (e.g. due to unsafe weather conditions) • If the tour is canceled by us due to unsafe weather or conditions beyond our control, a full refund of your deposit will be provided, or you may choose to reschedule at no additional cost.
⸻ At The Spearfishing Shack, we put a lot of time and resources into preparing each tour , from staffing and scheduling to equipment, permits, park fees , food orders , fuel, and personalized planning. When a booking is confirmed, we reserve that time exclusively for you and often turn away other guests to honor your reservation. When a cancellation is made within 24 to 72 hours of the tour, we’ve already committed to those costs and have limited ability to rebook that spot on short notice. That’s why we retain a portion (or all) of the deposit, depending on how close to the tour date the cancellation occurs. It’s not just about covering overhead ,it’s about respecting the work, coordination, and dedicated time that goes into creating a safe and memorable experience for each of our guests. We always strive to be fair, and in situations where we cancel a trip due to weather or safety, we of course provide a full refund or offer to reschedule at no additional charge.
